Mantis owners

Picked up my first mantis, the gonodactylus chiragra from the den. It has been in the tank for about two hours and has eaten 3 ceriths and 2 nass. What is a ballpark figure of how many snails these guys can take down before they are "full". Can't believe I waited this long to get one these, they are amazing.

You mean you got a mantis shrimp on purpose? Isn't that thing going to be destructive? Plus I,m told they are hard to see.

It's in a 30gal species tank, minus some snails. It varies by species how often they are out in the open.

How big is he? It won't necessarily be a matter of him stopping when he is full. You have to be careful of giving these guys too much food because they'll horde it away.
I have kept the chiragra. They are one of the more "quiet" ones. I still enjoyed him immensely but I didn't see a whole lot of him. His pink underbelly was awesome.
They are strong boys and are one of the ones I would never but in a thin panel glass tank. I never really got any good pics of mine.
I'm gonna see if I can see yours in the archives :)

Ohhh...he never ate all that then, that's too much food.
I fed live every now and then, but I would usually fill up shells with frozen fare and let him beat them up to get his lunch.
