Mantis Pipes?

Do these pipes look like something a Peacock mantis would be interested in?

Great rock work but with my Peacock, she likes to barricade her PVC burrow sometimes with sand and rock. I found that if the PVC is touching the sandbed, it will be easier for her to do what she wants. But that is only my opinion and that is what I have found works for mine.

FYI IMO your mantis is going to call one her home if you have a preference when you introduce her do it in front of the Pvc you want her to occupy

I suppose I should have realized how territorial Mantis shrimp are and how pointless two burrows in one tank would be. I thought if the mantis perferred one burrow to another it could choose which to live in. However then it would probabally be defensive towards the other burrow.
I plan on a trio of damsels that perhaps would like a tunnel of their own. Or a wrass of some sort.
Or I may take one burrow out. I just thought it would be cool with two.

I personally love caves (PVC) the more the nicer appearance of the tank IMO My point is simply if you prefer one burrow that allows you to observer you mantis easily place it in front of that one when you introduce it. But there is not guarantee that after scouting out the tank that it will not chose another home

Whats your take on what Bandit said about the pipe not being on the floor of the tank and blocking with rubble?
I think its a good point that I hadnt thought of.

not to worry just put lots and lots of small pieces of rock on you substratum and be amazed at the landscaper your mantis is

Im going to break up some LR into rubble and add that.
I figure I will leave my CUC in there minus the starfish and peppermint shrimp. Perhaps a few snails will survive, however unlikely that may be. Im not sure how the tank will cope without a CUC.
If I was to overstock with snails would that pose a problem for the mantis? I dont know if they will keep eating even if not hungry like some fish.

best bet is burrowing snails they will last the longest, throw in a turbo now and then for a treat.
BTW I have a LARGE turbo in my tank for sometime now and LOLA does not mess with it
