Anybody have any pictures of mantis shrimp when they are really really small/young? I'm afraid I have about 3-4 tiny ones running around my tank right now (they are no more than a 1/2 inch big, and all white)... just need to verify...
TIA!

all white? they are probably just little copepods. mantis shrimp usually make burrows, or have a little home inside rocks and cover up their homes at night. you'll usually see them scavenging around at about 5-7 ish. If you could provide a picture itd be alot easier to detemine. but here is an AWESOME site for more of the common seen stomatopods(mantis shrimp).

if they are pods there is nothing to worry about, many fish eat them, and thats prob. what they are

The one that I showed is curled up, but usually they are uncurled and running all over the place. I am almost positive that they are what you have. They are very common.

They can hitch-hike in live rock. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that it's all good in the hood.
Still have to post a pic, but every time I go to the tank to take a pic or two, they're nowhere to be found.. lol
Driving me batty. :hilarious
