I have been trying to trap a mantis for a few weeks with no succes. of course the rocks it hangs in are at the bottom of 300 lbs. I have tried the X-Terminator, the coke bottle and various other home made traps and all I catch are hermits. Does anyone have any other suggestions. I have a 180 gal reef set up with corals and many inverts. I have heard rumors of some natural predators?
Thanks

I feel your pain. I had 3 mantis shrimps (damn Florida liverock) and each one was caught when I had taken the rock out of the tank. One I caught by accident. Good luck.

Actually you can use nylon to catch alligator gar when fishing also, under the same method since they do a death roll when they strike. Doesn't purtain to the question, however, I had to chime in.
good luck
