my tank is about 7 feet in front of my desk.
I was just sitting here and I thought I heard a loud clicking coming from my tank, although I am not really sure.
The clicking happened 3-4 times and when I approached my tank, It stopped
Is the clinking of the mantis that loud
I was a very clean clicking sound, high pitch.
I also just noticed that my cleaner shrimp are eating the carcas of a hermit crab, do mantis shrimps kill hermits?

Sounds like a mantis.
Your hermit may have molted it's exoskeleton and that is what the shrimp were eating. But, yes mantis shrimp will eat hermits, shrimp, fish, anything it can get ahold of.

i have the same thing going on in my tank at night never did seen it yet nor do i have anything missing it can also be a pistal shrimp as well and iam not about to tare my hole tank down to get it so i just learned to live with it i think mantis shrimp are neat little critters if he takes a few snails on the way so be it but all in all if you have a change to see it and catch it with out taring your tank down then get it out and most lfs will take them off your hands!!!!And by the way do not grab him with your bare hands they pack a very nice blow i have had friends get nailed by them they can hurt ya pretty good..

It is either a "smasher" mantis or a pistol shrimp. You can stake out your tank at night and try to see the critter. If you have someting that will go over the lens of your flashlight to change the color, like red T-shirt, etc. then the light won't scare them away.
