Mappa Puffer Experiences

Looking for information on mappa puffers. There is limited info on this fish. Anyone have or had of these awesome fish? Any info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks Tim

I LOOKED INTO ACQUIRING a map puffer a little while ago and it gets huge! also in its diet is coralline algae!you could supplement that. if you have a big enough aqaurium i'd say go for it

you'll also need good filtration because there slobs like all puffers,lol i didnt get one because dont like when fish overgrow my tanks. good luck though

Dont they get to be like 3-4 feet? I thought I saw a picture of one on this website not that long ago and it was a monster. Awesome looking fish though!!

They will get about 24 inches or so, and really need a 250+ tank in my opinion. They love inverts including corals, and once they get big enough they will crush the snail shells and eat the snail. They eat a general meaty died, crab, mollusks, fish, shrimp, some greens, they need hard stuff in their diet because their teeth never stop growing. Most care you see for a dog face will translate over well for the larger puffer.

Thanks for the info. He's in a 180 right now and has a home when he gets bigger. He ate right after acclimation. Heres a couple of new pics of him.
