Marble Score!!!!!

Was dropping my GF off at work and on the way home I happened to pass a stoneworks place that does granite and marble counter tops, teh hours said the place was closed but, the garage bay was open. An epiphiny hit me, so I stopped in and asked the guy working there if they had any marble tailings that they were just throwing out, he said yeah we throw out quite a bit, and we are going to be cutting up some more white marble next week. he showed me a bin outback full of odd scraps of stuff and I dug out a bunch of white marble!

YA! I'm going to use it for growing out zoa colonies, and stuff like that the smooth surface will allow fastest growth and easy peeling for fragging. Here are what I walked away with for Free.
the first pic is all of it, the second picture is the disk with my hand for size comparison, its about 9 inches

How noticible is the marble with the frags on it when you set it up?

Very, I'm just going to use it for growing frag colonies then frag onto rock. Some people dont mind marble in the DT I hate it, I'm not going to be selling them on marble (unless I break it up and put something encrusting like an encrusting brain or Starpolyp on it so you cant see the marble) It just makes a great growing media. and the smooth surface makes removeing corals a snap over roucher live rock.

Yeah I've seen it. I think its an awesome video. I actually have it saved to my comp for friends who havent and are scared of fragging. I can alway up load it and make a link from photo bucket or something if it isnt copywrited (I would hate to get sued over something as minor as sharing knowledge)

I havent seen this video and I would love to. Please do post it. Congrats on the marble this is the first time I have heard about it and it sounds like a great idea. Keep us updated

keep in mind fols before youstart grabbing colored marble scrap to use ONLY white marble is safe because the colors in colored marble are from mineral deposits that could be toxic in your aquarium, the whiter the marble the better. red or bronze colored marble is definatly out as its mostly Iron or copper deposits that would poison your tank.

yeah thats 3 different types of zoa too. Once they open tommorrow or the next day I'll post more pics.
I'll probably add more types too later on. I just wanted to post the mushroom cutting pictures people were asking for on my fragging thread.
