Marble Shark

Hi
I have a Marble Shark which has developed a small round balloon on the inside front of its lower mouth. It has stopped eating and I would like some advice please.

Sounds like a goiter.
Help us, help you (as others have said). Tank size, parameters, tank mates, filtration, etc??

The tank is 5 foot long and I have only a Mooray Eel in there. He is doing fine. I have a skimmer and two Ehiem pumps pumping 1000Lt/hr and another internal pump in the tank. I have a picture but its too big to send as an attachment- am trying to reduce ti so you can see it.

What is the rest of the dimensions of this tank?
How long have you had this shark?

Unfortunately, nothing you have told us answers any of the questions I asked. When those questions are answered, we can help you more.
What I see, in the picture, does not resemble a goiter, though.

i would also guess this would be goiter.what type of diet do you have him on any suppliments being used? do a search on this products .this should help,so i have read at least

The tank is 5feet x 2 feet high and 1.5 wide. I have had the shark for approx. 2years. I have also been told it is not a goiter. Possible cyst/tumor?

Goiters usually form in the throat/next area. Cyst or tumor might be possible...but, again...
What are the water parameters?!?! Ammonia, nitrate, nitrite, etc. etc. etc.

The tank conditions. ie ammonia,ph etc are all okay. The tank is in good condition- its just one of those things in life. I have also asked fish vets and marine biologists who are not really sure.

Serg, we may be able to help you here. In order for us to do that though, we do need to know your exact water parameters. We need to know your pH, your alkalinity, ammonia, nitrite, nitrate, salinity, and temperature.
Also, if my calculations are right {(60" X 24" X 18")/231)}, your tank is only 115 gallons. That is a very small tank to keep a shark in, let alone for 2 years.

Not to be rude, but again..."are all okay" is not what we asked for. If you dont know, off the top of your head, that means you're not testing your water regularly...which you should be doing.
We need EXACT specifications. "All are okay" might be ok to someone but not so good to others.
