They are not hard to raise they are timid and can be bullied by more aggressive fish and depending on the size they may try to eat smaller fish, but mine eats almost any meaty food I give him and I feed live as a treat a couple time a week he likes ghost shrimp.

I have had my marine betta for almost 2 years now. He has never eaten a feeder or a ghost shrimp(what i was reccomended to feed him). he is a wimp. he does it frozens though, but lately he hasnt been eating much. I noticed that when he stays in 1 tank and doesnt have to compete for food he does the best. They are fun fish once they get used to their environemnt. Mine is in a 55g so i think your tank is plenty big... GL with him

I've had one in my reef for about 3 months now, and I love him! They are very cool fish. Make sure you have a good sized cave that he can hang out in. Mine will stay in there most of the time, until he gets hungry, or until he thinks no one's looking. He is a picky eater, in fact the only thing he'll eat is ghost shrimp and keyhole limpets. Great addition imo...
