i had the chance to test a few manufactures test kits and i could test the same tank with a few different test from the same company and get different readings from each box. it was so discouraging that i just stopped testing my fish only system for over a year now with no loses or problems. all fish are thriving not surviving. i also convinced a friend to stop being so anal about testing water and just feed your fish sea veggies twice a day so you don't have nitrate problems from frozen foods and keep flake to a couple times a week. his tangs that where quarter size 2 years ago are now 8-10 inches. i have never seen fish as big as his in captivity. also doing 5 gallon water change every two weeks
