Hey MARINEROCK:
Thought I'd give you an update. Skimmer seems tuned in and the clarity of the water is finally coming back. Here's some pics:
First no flash

HEY JUMP...
GLAD TO HEAR THE SKIMMER HAS FINALLY ADJUSTED AND THE
CLARITY OF THE WATER IS GOOD NOW....IT DOES TAKE A
LITTLE FINE TUNING OF THE COLUMN LEVEL BUT ONCE IT IS
RIGHT FOR YOUR TANK, YOU WONT HAVE TO TOUCH IT AGAIN...
IF YOU ADD ANYTHING LIKE STRESS COAT...THE SKIMMER WILL
GO OUT OF CONTROL...SO IF YOU ADD THAT, SHUT THE SKIMMER
OFF FOR A WHILE...I STOPPED ADDING THAT STUFF FOR THAT
REASON...EVEN WHEN I ADDED THE STRESS COAT TO THE BAG
OF A NEW ARRIVAL AND JUST PUT THE FISH IN, THE STRESS COAT
ON THE FISH WOULD MAKE THE SKIMMER REACT....
YOUR TANK LOOKS GREAT...IS YOUR BACKGROUND BLUE OR JUST
THE WAY THE PICTURE CAME OUT ? MY TANK BACKGROUND IS
BLACK BUT I THINK I MAY CHANGE TO BLUE AS IT DOES LOOK
MORE VIBRANT...WHAT TYPE OF BACKROUND DID YOU USE?
MINE IS REGULAR CONTACT PAPER....
ALSO, THANKS FOR POSTING THAT PICTURE OF THE UNION FOR ME...DO YOU USE THEM ON YOUR PUMPS ? I THINK IM GONNA GET ONE....
BEST REGARDS...

Hey ROCK: I painted the background black. I used blue on my reef tank and I like the look. But, since this tank has the built in overflows which are black, I thought the blue wouldn't look right. I'm glad I went with black. The overflows blend in and the back of the tank just seems to disappear. Be anxious to see how it ages.
As for the the union, I use it on my mag 12 return. I guess it will make for easy removal to clean the pump or make any changes in the future. To be honest I think it might be a source far letting air get into the system too. Let's just say I have one and I'm not sure why:rolleyes:
Catch ya later!
