Ha. I got this single mushroom at the LFS this morning. The guy said $4.00 before he realized it was on a LIVE snail. He tried to up the price but I said no way. Deal is a deal. I just thought it was cool so I had to post it.

Is there really any harm to the coral by doing this? It seems like a cool and fun thing you can do. I really want to try to mount a shroom on a snail now. lol

I do have some concerns of when the snail cruises to the top, the light may be too intense. And likewise if it goes under a ledge, not enough.
Does anyone know if other corals can injure a shroom if they come in contact? Or vice-versa?

Thats cool....Whats weird is that it can take days and days even weeks for shrooms to attach to something, that snail must have been hibernating or something...

Mushroom probably attached when the shell was empty, I have one shell with a little duster attached but the hermit changed shells so it doesn't get a ride anymore, I've seen xenia attached to a snail before.

My Step Dad had a hermit that was in a shell that had a mushroom attached. During the day when the mushroom would open up and expand it would completely conceal the hermit and the shell and all you would see is this mushroom moving very slowly over the rocks or on the sandbed: it was ninja.

Hmm, now I know what to do with those big a$$ mexican turbos, lol, Im thinkin kenya tree or star polyps, both are very hardy and can stand being mashed crushed stung etc, Im thinkin a special tank to hose the sail in until the coral is set. maybe I could market this.... lol jk, but def a thing to take to my next club frag swap.

The chronicles of the Mobile Mushroom continues... I'm thinking this guy will be my first attempt at fragging. He doesn't seem to be too happy moving around all the time.

no worries soon he will let go and leave a baby behind.
Then there was Two.
The Saga continues.
keep us posted, (due to my blender attempt at fragging a mushroom I know first hand that that is the most bullet proof mushroom type on the face of the planet)

Now don't this just beat the band. Now my favorite blue shroom has been taken over. Here is a pic of him on this shell with a couple button polyps. One of my hermits decided he likes the shell also.
When I got home from work, I couldn't find the shroom. I finally spotted him behing my GSP rock...and he's moving. I'll get a pic when the crab comes out of there.

Well I got a couple pics of him going behind the GSP. Then the hermit in question's old shell where the mushroom used to be. Then the original Mark's Mobile Mushroom.
