my wife dragged me to see it friday.
was bs how the preveiws portrayed it.
sat there and listened to my wife cry through the second half.
sucks because we had to do the exact same thing to our bull mastive 12 months ago and our rotty 6 months ago, right down to putting them in the back of our truck.
i guess it would be a good movie for kids to learn about life though.
i miss my dogs.

Haven't seen the movie, but did read the book. It was great. I'll probably wait until the movie comes out on pay-per-view to watch it though. In my experience, it you read the book 1st, the movie is usually a letdown.

I think every kid should read Where the Red Fern Grows...it is sad, but has a pretty valuable life lesson.

Oh my, you really had me going. I saw the commercial for it so many times tonight. I looked at it so differently thinking that the dog was going to die!!! Shame on you!

Well, what ever way the movie ends, it's the stuff in the middle that is the funniest. Did you know this is a true story?
The book was written by a person from our area who used to (or still does) write for the Philadelphia Enquirer. He lives about 30 miles north of here.
I would definitely recommend reading the book. Very entertaining and funny. Makes me appreciated my puppies even more..

I actually don't know too much about the story other than what I have seen in the commercials. That is very interesting that the writer is from around this area though.

Eh, I really don't have any interest in seeing it. My wife wants to see it really bad. I just told her that the dog dies at the end. hehe. I'm evil.

We already have one of them "Marley's", so no point in seeing the movie.

Actually my parents just finished the book and they really liked it. We get the movie once it's on DVD.
