I just put this Maroon clown into my 6 gallon QT last week. I noticed there is something on it's tailfin. Can anyone tell what it is? I kind of think it might be a parasite. It's not really white even though the pic may look like it. that may be glare. I can try to take another pic if it would help.

I will try to get another picture so it's clearer. The problem seems to be when I edit it I lose the clarity.

When I brought my GBM home they developed something simular. After a week it went away. Mine was more than likely stress related. As long as your water is good and they are eating you should be fine. Besure to soak your food in garlic.

Well it's been about 2 weeks now and it's gotten a bit bigger and turned white. The fish seems to act fine though and eats well. I really don't think it's ich.
Any help is appreciated

I'm thinking of removing the clown from the tank and qt him after trying to remove this thing off his fin. I guess I would need to treat him for bacteria as a preventative. Any ideas?

I guess it could be a parasite ut I'm still thinking Lymphocystis. there hasn't been any changes to the look of it. I am feeding vitamins, garlic and such. Hopefully it starts to disappear soon.
