Clownfish are something, but sometimes they're something else! We have a beautiful true percula, and everything was fine in reefland for a long time. One day, he decided our gornopia was an anemone, and moved in. The reef went to hell in about 72 hours. The clown was stressing the coral to the max, it barely came open at all any more, and he took to chasing everything in the tank that even looked at the gornopia. After a few days, nothing (even a scopus tang 5 times the clownfish's size) would come out from behind the live rock all day. We moved the coral to another spot, and the clown abandoned it for a while, but the fish were still hiding, and he was still chasing. I finally decided to take the clown out, and move him into one of our other tanks. Yah. Easier said then done. It took 3 hours of not even coming close to him that I realized I would have to break down the rock to get him. I gave up, and he went back to his terrorizing ways, and reunited with the gornopia in its new spot. I was going nuts, so I finally gave in and started taking rock out. After 45 minutes, I caught the bugger, and put him in another tank with a yellow boxfish and a cowfish that we have all by their lonesome. I put the rock back in the reef, and actually liked the new way it sat better. In about 2 days, all the fish went back to normal in there, and the gornopia has never looked better. I felt bad for the percula, but he was actually ruining that tank. He seems happy now, living with his new buddies, but wow, what a nightmare he was in the reef!
