Maroon Clown ?'s

I've had my maroon clown, Durza, for about 2 months. He was sold in the store as a maroon, but I bought him because when the light hit him just right in the tank he looked like he might be a gold stripe, which was what my boyfriend & I really wanted [plus he was so damn cute and we couldn't resist
] Anyway, he's grown about 1/2 an inch since we've had him and every now n then his first stripe has flecks of yellow in it. My question is, can this be conculsive proof that he really is a gold stripe, or can maroons sometimes do this and trick us hopeful wishers into thinking they're a gold stripe??
Here's a picture of him!
You can't see the gold we sometimes see, I just thought I'd post a nice shot of him.. =)

Male maroons take a long time before it showed true colors. I've been told it can take atleast 1 year before any change at all.

Thats going to become a beautiful GB maroon! I bought my GB when he was only 2 inches, and had almost NO yellow. Now he's appx. 3 1/2 inches (4 months later) and has fully developed color. The two biggest indications that tell me thats a GB is the darkening of the dorsal, pelvic, and caudual fins. The second obvious indicator would be the increasingly yellowing of the bars.

This is what yours should look like when it matures. Its not a great pic. This is my male maroon clownfish and he is very yellow/ gold in the stripe area although looking at him i noticed that all his stripes are outlined in white. Anyway here is what I have and I will try to get a better pic of him.
