I believe that the normal Maroon Clowns tend to be brighter in color. Mine is so red that it seems black.

they are mean and probably not a good first fish as they will attack anything else you put in after. You need to get the other fish first then the GSM.

Someone on another site told me to get Marine Fishes by Scott W. Michael to learn more about fish for my tank. She said it was really good, talked about compatibility, and went into detail about fish. I haven't checked it out myself yet, but I think I'm going to buy it with my Christmas money.

you need to wait for your tank to mature before the manderin and should have a hundred pounds of live rock. a fuge will help with the pods though.

I had a gold stripe maroon, and a maroon clown, they got a long fine with any other fish I put in, just don't add any more clowns, and if you want 2, make sure you add them at the same time, that has worked for me. Oh, and don't add any smaller fish after they are in the tank also.

My Maroon went into the tank first. He is smaller the the coral beauty and diamond goby that came after and still way smaller then the Kole Tang that came after those (clown is about 2 inches, Kole is about 4.5 to 5 inches. and a new arival just came out of QT a 6 inch Hawaiian black trigger. The clown can hold his own against any of them. She show each of them when they got added to the tank what her territory was around the GSP she hosts. They leave her alone.

wait till you try to move anything or just put your hand in the tank near it and you will know what it is like to be a fish that goes near its terf
