Maroon Clowns

I have a 55 gal aquarium and want maroon clowns. What is the chances of keeping 2 if I add them together? Should I just keep 1? What are yall thoughts?

Are you sure that you want to have maroon clowns in your tank?? They can and will dictate what you can have in your tank from fish to corals to your hand. These guys are nasty. What are fish are in the tank? Any way, it would be best to add them together with one that is larger than the other. If they are the same size, they might fight each other (sometimes to the death) to assert dominance so the other will be the submissive one.

Agree with the other members. In one of my tanks I have a 5 inch female...she killed her first mate for not taking care of the eggs. Her new mate of 2 years now takes care of the eggs. They will chase the other fishes away and love anemones literally to death...not to mention blood is drawn every time I clean the tank. Mean suckers for sure.

I was going thru old posts and found this one. Gemmy you are exactly right. I had 2 maroon clown that i bought together. They got along for a month, then kids came to me and said they were fighting. I went to tank, and sure enough, they were going at it hard. They fought for 2 days. Finally one died, then 2 days later the other one was so chewed up he couldnt swim, he died
