Maroon wagging sand on Clam

My maroon clown has picked up the new hobby of blowing sand on my 4" crocea for no reason. I think he would have accepted it in his territory by now cuz they've been together for a few months now with no issues. Any way I can get him to stop, other than move the clam? Its attached to the acrylic underneath my sand bed so it would be tricky to move him.

It isn't so much the clown is trying to cover your clam, but he's probably digging a hole near what he's hosting (mine does this near its anemone). Moving the clam would be the first option, second would be to place a small rock over the sandbed in which the clown is digging up. That stopped mine in the past.

Ive actually wondered why Maroons shift the sand with their tails. I have one in a 115 and no corals or inverts he seems to like to wag his tail in the sand moving it around.

Hes done it to the back 2 corners of the tank and as far as I can tell, I think he sleeps either there, or up next to the splitter return in my tank.
