Massive water movement

I used to worry about stressed out fish from to much water movement in the aquarium but in the wild it is very common to see the fish move over 3 feet back and forth laterally with the wave action all day. As for the night the waves of course do not stop but most of the fish hide in the reef so it's not as much of an issue. The fish for the most part don't fight the water movement unless they spot some thing of interest.
Now in the aquarium the water movement generally is more of a swirling action unlike a lateral back and forth action. so that swirling action coupled with fish general health may be the problem.

Power heads can be nice but I much prefer hiring the native girls to use a piece of marine plywood for my waves.
