Mated clowns

what has to happen before 2 clowns are considered a "mated" pair. Do they have to have mate and make eggs before or what?

They like each other and have paired off.

both of them like one corner of the tank. they stay there almost all the time. Expecially the female. Does this mean anything?

They are extremely territorial. They will adopt an area, call it home, and rarely move more than a foot away from home. This is the primary reason they do so well in captivity, they actually prefer enclosed spaces.
A Percula in the wild may not ever stray more than a foot away from it's home during its entire lifetime after it finds a safe haven.
