I agree with you on that, but some people don't have a refugium and romaine is a lot cheaper. But in this case, nursing a fish in poor health back to health, you are totally right.
What species of macro algae do you feed?
Ulva, gracilaria and many types of caulerpa because they grow so fast in my
Romaine is cheaper, but honestly, it's not nearly as nutritious. Leaf spinach, especially baby spinach is a little better. My tangs will not touch spinach or lettuce anymore, they're spoiled. They actually still prefer dried algae sheets to anything else.
My dwarf angles LOVE grape caulerpa. My Copperband Butterfly will even eat chaeto. Blenny only eats dried sheets.
