I think there is a way to tell them apart. I think the males are paler in color. Hopefully you have a full lid on your tank though.

I don't think they are sexually dimorphic. I have 2 that I bought from the LFS that he got in at the same time. They were sharing a hole in the LFS so I just took a shot at hoping I got a pair. I have an open topped tank. So far no jumpers.

You are LUCKY!!! LOL. I had a diamond that would just swallow mouthfulls of sand and at any given time, well I cant say that, every several of hours would just start darting up the side of the glass. Gobies are notorious for jumping. Especially with even the slightest change in water parameters. I gave him away to a neighbor that has a 350 gallon (wow right) full blown reef tank with a lid. I like open top myself because of water evaporation. It allows you to add fresh water every other day and gases to escape easier.

Nice, My new light arrived yesterday. I got a sweet deal on it too. I got one of those orbit compacts by current. 260 watts, two actinics and two sunpaq daylights with 4 lunar lights, 3 cords all set on timers. I know it isnt that much wattage, but I dont really need that much on a 55 reef. Anything between 250-400 should do it. I only paid like 220 for it with shipping. GREAT deal. 48" also
