Math Question

I was changing my profile and it had a 'Math Question' box right below the 'My Location' box. I think it was '9+5'. I don't see the question anymore thinking I must have seen things. What's that all about? Did anyone get that? Is it standard VB question? Some sort of mental acuity test.

No....... then it would be as you're registering, not just changing your profile...
I don't really know the details of how it works but it is a security measure. Myspace does the same thing when you change your profile you get a box with random numbers and letters in it and you have to re-type exactly what's in the box before your profile will actually update. Maybe some techies on here can actually explain this all in detail.

Its a security measure . It helps to foil bots . Keeps them from hacking accounts and such.

I agree it is a security measure to make sure a person and not an automated program is entering the info The automated program can gain access to your pc and initiate the change it has been programmed to install but it cannot recognize the math problem as such and answer it

I forgot, the '9+5' question was in text. Not graphics. . A bot can not decipher the graphics but can easily decipher the text.

That's what your password is for. You can change your profile without answering that question, so it's obviously not security.
