I don't think that's how you solve the equation in the first place, but you can't just stick parenthesis around 8y+64. If you were to take (xy-8x)-(8y+64), and remove the parenthesis, you would have xy-8x-8y-64, not +64.
and factor out ...........2x(y-8)-8(y+8)
you can't take 2x out because there is no 2 in front of the xy. it would be: x(y-8)-8(y+8)
so then the rest of what you said would be wrong.
sorry I just had to point that out.

that's because algebra is useless. it's only purpose is to neutralize the one side of the brain cause the other side is busy creating cool stuff. but algebra enthusiasts fail to realize that creating cool stuff is waaaaaaayyyy better then scrambling useless & intangible letters and symbols around.
but the human brain is subconciously smart. it automatically makes you forget useless crap like algebra. the brain automatically uses it's now available capacity to focus on more important stuff....
.....sssssuch as the fact that it's taco tuesday tonight at el ranchito, dollar beers, and don't forget to get extra green sauce on the carne tacos cause the green sauce is that real spicey stuff.

Yeah, I never understood the point of it. I mean, yeah some things could come in handy, but once you get into calculus, it's just all useless....
When the HELL am I going to have to graph a parabola and figure out its equation in real life?? When the hell am I ever going to come even REMOTELY close to graphing something that even LOOKS like a parabola?? NEVER!!!

i'm much more happier of the fact that i'm reminded that the green sauce is the spicey stuff. one of the best things that goes with beer is cheap, spicey tacos.
so while you guys are crunching numbers & letters on graph paper, me and kitty-k are gonna be grubbin mad spicey tacos and kicking people's asses.
