i found 3 maxi jet 1200 ph's on an auction site for $52 plus shipping. does that sound like a fair deal?

Possibly, depends on if new or used. Remember the 1200's are energy hogs though, depending on their use the 900's are more energy efficiant and still offer good flow.

i also found a currentsea wavemaker w/ 2 maxi jet 900s for $85 new. is this a better deal?
i'm setting up a 54g corner reef tank.
