Maxi jet powerhead impeller

Ok my impeller for my MJ 600 broke.
I want to use my impeller from my 1200 on it. Will this work? it wont cause any electrical problems will it? I dont want it to create any shock in the tank. Does it pull a certain wattage due to a different magnetivity or are they all the same?

I don't know the answer to your particular question, but sort of on topic....I have found that if you try to cut a corner and save a couple bucks on your tank, down the road you end up paying dearly. Why risk electrical shock and loos of everything in the tank? Is $30 really too much for a new powerhead?
Just a thought and opinion. Good Luck!

Aaron - I never tried to exchange the impellers, but I believe an impeller is an impeller as long as the barrel fits it should be ok. Price for new mj600 is only about $15.00 online (does not include s/h)

thank you thank you. I looked down the barrel of the powerhead. It is nothing but plastic, no exposed metal or anyything like that.

why not take the propeller from the 1200 and put it on the broken one w/o using the magnetic thing? I do believe you can seperate them. then again maybe you cannot? i'm sure you tried that already

do you mean the propeller on the magnetic thing? my entire impeller is broken, the magnet seperated from the impeller.
