It wasn't me that posted about the problem, but I did have a problem with coming home after work consistently for a week and finding my ph down and out.
I ended up just taking the bracket with the suction cups on and flipping it upside down so the part of the bracket with 2 cups on was towards the top of the tank. I cleaned off the cups and the glass inside in the tank where I was placing it, and voila. No problems since.
Hope this helps.

Yeah i hate the stupid suction cups
never seem to work for me so i just try and angle my powerheads so they point the right way and just let them hang a bit. everynow and then i need to redirect them.

I buy replacement clear suction cups at my local grocery store. They come with hooks for hanging stuff from them but I take those off. Works great, and it's a simple $1.49 fix.

im not sure if it has to do with then breaking down or if it is because of the slimy feel from the algea .. i do know i rinsed them off and then stuck them to my window and they wouldnt move , then when i went to throw them back in the tank i have the same problem , so people say it has to do with them breaking down , but i highloy doubt it , they are made of silicone ...........so i would maybe put a dab of silicone on them and stick them on , not really a permanent situation like it seems , because silicone is pretty easy to manipulate

I just hang my maxi jets instead of just using suction cups and you can turn the deflector towards any position you need it. Why mess with suction cups??

I had the same problem a while back. I soaked mine in vinegar and water for 20 min. or so and they've worked fine for some time now. Hope this helps.
