Can I use a MaxiJet 1200 as a return pump from a 10 gal sump to a 10 gal DT or should I get something bigger?
The idea is to drill 2 holes in the back of a 10 gal tank, use one for return and the other for drain. What size hole would work?

it will also depend on how far you intend to pump the water... is it set up under the DT?,...side by side? :notsure:
i dont know how far the MaxiJet can push the water at the desired flow-rate... you may need to ask the manuf.

Powerheads such as the Maxi Jet mentioned are really built as "free flow" devices..(water in...water out) and loose an expotential amount of flow when any restriction is added...
