Just curious, the Maxijet 1200 uses 20 watts and the Maxijet 900 only uses 8 watts. Even though the Maxijet 900 does not push as much water, does anyone use it over the Maxijet 1200 because of the electrical factor?

i use the mj900 over the 12 for that exact difference... i know that it's minimal but why not save where i can... it's only like 30gph difference or around that on the two models...(but, i mj-stream moded my two 900 to do about 1400gph so.... i thinki made out good on that deal)

What exactly do you mean by "mj-stream moded" and is is something thats easy to do? Or should I say, is it something I can do if my Maxijets are run off a wavemaker thats turns them on and off randomly?

the mod is when you switch out the 'impelar' to a propellar.. it pushes the water instead of forced centripical(sp i know)... just google 'MJMOD' and you will find your answer as to how it work and where to get the stuff from...
as for having them on a timer... i have one on a timer...( i made my mod tho..didn't buy it ) it is on for 45min-1hr then off for 30 min and on again... it clicks back and forth until it spins the right way ( about 2 seconds) then it go quiet...
