May have something in my tank

This is what I am thinking. I have a 215 and my hermits and shrimp come up missing.
I used to have 6 pepps. Now I have 2 with no signs of decay?
I have 100 or so hermits and I have a bunch of shells lying on the bottom.
I can here some clicking noise but it appears to be the hermit shells hitting the glass.
What does a mantis shrimp sound like? Is it lound or just a regular clicking sound? I know they click but not much more.
Water: I did have a very low Alk problem which I am correcting. Would this kill my inverts? No missing fish. :happyfish
PH 8.3
tates 0
trites 0
CA 440
Ammonia 0
Mag 1400
SG 1.026
Alk 2.0
Temp 80
A little help would be great....

How much LR do you have? it is easy to miss place a few things in a big tank like that.. I can't tell you how many times I thought something was gone and it was just hanging out behind some rockwork. I was just about ready to replace my CBS a few weeks ago because I haven't seen him in close to 3 MONTHS!!! and as I was sitting there eating dinner one night he just came out of no where and TWICE the size
I might even be as bold to say 3 times his original size.. it was crazy!! if you have a lot of rock work shimp love to hide - especially when they molt.

I don't think that would have killed any hermits.
why not? High alk killed mine, threw ph off some too...I lost urchins and hermits, oddly no stars, to high alk. all others test were good.

ditto, also hermits may kill each other, I never really worried about them. Are the extra shells you have larger than the shells the hermits are in?
If you have a change in sg or temp, that may stress the shrimp. How long have you had them?
and what other inverts do you have? CBS will eat Peppermint shrimp.

Hey Sinner, have'nt heard from you in while
anyways, I just did'nt think High Alk would kill them. Hermits are tough little guys.

I have 280lbs and it seems that I have die off and not much molting. I have about 80 extra shells scattered on the SB and I see them change up all the time.
My Sg pretty much stays consistant it will swing 25-26 when I do a water change-sometimes and the temp is always on the money.
I have the following:
2 peppermint
2 cleaner
100 hermits
11 scarlet
6 turbo
6 astrea
13 nar snails
1 blond naso
1 des jar
1 pair of GSM
1 chromis
1 hammer
1 leather
polyps
zoos
xenia
Thanks for the help!
