Maybe stupid question... but what the heck are T5 lights?

I see them mentioned everywhere but have no idea what they are. All I know is flourescent, VHO, halides, and PCs. I think.
Yes, so maybe a stupid question, but can someone inform me?

My 100 gal is lit by 6X54 T5 bulbs. 4X6500 daylights, 2Xblue2, which are about 20000k. Each bulb has its own reflector, which icreases dramatically the bulb's power. The light is so brigt it's hard to stare into it. My tabk has several LPS corals which are thriving ok and now i started with SPS. My 2 small acroporas seems to be doing fine one of them is started growing. Now trying with montipora. We'll see.

Yes, more info can be found on web. Do a search in Yahoo and you will find it. IMO these bulbs are available only in europe right now.
