Hes not a Muslim either, McCain has stated this a few times already.
So if you believe McCain when he says Obama isn't a Socialist you must also believe he is wrong on taxes and foreign policy too right?

He doesn't have to be "A socialist" to push socialist policies, just as McCain said in the interview.

I know there was a "redistribute wealth" thread, but it was something like 250+ posts and i wasnt going to read it. but i want to get a simple understanding from those who are more versed in politics (and Obama) than i am.
I would have Voted Huckabee, but he apparently ran out of money. Sucks, he was a cool guy. Anyways, now I am beginning to be on the fence and this redistribution of wealth thing is freaking me out. Then again, my vote isnt one of the magical california 55 votes, so i could vote either way, it wont matter.
so lets say i know someone who invented and owns the patent on a device that every home now has, lets call him Craig. Now Craig, being 68 years old, worked his whole life, worked his butt off, and now as a result of his lifes work, he now pulls in $250k a year.
What is Obama going to do about that? hes just going to take away $50k from Craigs income and give it to some other guy??? what the heck is that about? am i understanding this right?
Is it just me or does this "take from the rich and give to the poor" Seems really LAME for those who really worked their arse off for that money. If i was making that much i sure as hell wouldnt want the next president to take that hard earned money from my pocket and "redistribute" it

You got it.And i feel your pain ,as i live in Illinois. But you can still vote for the other state offices and make a difference that way.I do NOT like the electoral college system. My Presidential vote does not count living in this tax happy state.

It's really just a bunch of crap. The "redistribute wealth" thing has been sooo taken out of context and was a poor choice of words on Obama's part. The reality of his ideology is that he will not continue to give tax breaks to the wealthiest 1%. Instead of hitting the middle class with the largest brunt of taxation, he will increase taxes on the wealthy.
This idea has been completely manipulated by some short-sighted Obama detractors on this board to represent some form of socialism. The reality is that it's just an issue of which group pays higher taxes... the wealthy or the struggling middle class.

UMMM NO.In fact he will raise income taxes on everyone makeing more than $250.....200...150.....120......$42,000. in addition to his other tax increases. Then he will spend all this money on his 1Trillion Dollar spending spree on useless programs.

Do me a favor and show me where Obama lowers the amount from $250,000.00.... and don't show me the other thread because that's not even Obama.
Speaking of a spending spree, what about McCain's proposal to buy and resell at a loss all of the pre-foreclosed homes, at losses of $50-$100K per home.
And how about a $10 billion per MONTH war effort that is essentially writing blank checks to Halliburton and similar contractors. Aside from that, while we ignore Iran and Syria (thinking that this will somehow stop their nuclear ambitions), we will have to engage in at least another major war or two under McCain's ideology. That won't cost much, will it?

Rip Obama because he believes in health care for everyone. While support McCain and his inevitable war against the middle east. You people make no sense to me.

Ok Crimzy lets say that the bottom number remains at$250,000.He still is going to raise taxes on everyone else not just the 1% you claim. And history tells us as your fellow Dem Zman has agreed ,raising taxes on anyone during economic turmoil is a recipe for a worsened economy. This is what lead up to the "Great Depression"

I never agreed to your claims. What I agreed with is that two Republican Presidents resided over the "Great Depression", cause and effect.

Its easy as this :
Obama is gonna raise taxes and run the economy into the ground.Pull our troops before the job is done and cause a sever backlash because of it,
McCain is going to hold the line on taxes and continue killing terrorists.

Actually it's as easy as this:
McCain will engage us in a jihad against all Muslim nations. He will create far more terrorists than he can possibly kill and he will cost middle America billions-trillions for his wars and his silly proposal to bail all deadbeats out of foreclosure. Crazy people seem to think that he will not need to raise taxes to do these things.... realists know that taxes will be raised in the middle class. He will also fill the Supreme Court with ultra conservatives who want to overturn Roe v. Wade.
Obama will engage in diplomacy, end the war in Iraq, and go after Bin Laden in Afghanistan. He will also provide basic medical care for most, if not all citizens. He will carry out his ideals with integrity and consistency.
McCain will cheat on his wife with Palin, or some other younger woman.
