They try alot of different things in different markets There are several different things in trial phase right now.
The are adding things and taking things off the menu all the time though .
The mcrib is a limited time thing each year for about a month.
Other things are remade and redone like the homestyle I beleive it was called to the Big and Tasty sandwhich.
recentlyl they put alot in to the McCafe line and are looking to add a slushy and frozen smoothie machines into the stores that do McCafe The built in the space for those things with the McCafe upgrades.
From the looks of it they are about to add some new breakfast items in including a chicken McSkillet burrito.
If something doesnt sell they stop it. and try something new.
The main thing is if it sells and sells good they leave it on the menu.
They have been testing ALOT of new healthy alternatives though not sure if and when they will roll out though. Like i said alot of stuff has been put on hold till the McCafe line up is in full swing.
It also depends on what country you in as to what is offered In japan alot more uniqe to that area items are sold like rice and seafood. some are sit down fancier style restaraunts than what we have here in the US.
Some offer carrot sticks, fish sticks, and organic milks, cheese dippers *kinda like jalepeno poppers.*
in austrailia
the do several different pastries with the McCafe coffees.
in asia
They deliver!!!
mcwings, fruit cups, and deli style sandwhiches made to order.
in the philipines
Rice, and speghetti, and soups.
so its all in the market and what sells to what will be there.
