Mechanical filtering" does anyone use one "

I would like to know if you use a mechanical filter on your tanks ,
I have a 90 gal and even though have a prefiler on the wet dry , and a filter sock on my other output hose( fine micron bag). the water still does'nt get that crystal clear look. I use a mag 9 for the return pump.
3 yellow tangs
3 black damsels
10 hermits
10 snails
1 sally
2 1" bulkheads
2 1/2 bulkhead returns
20 gal sump
Water readings are fine
water change did that

Got a skimmer?

I put some in my filter bag.(sock) It not only helped clean the water a little better but quietened the splash.

are you speaking of the ocean clear filter? i had one of those, and if you don't clean those out on a regular basis, it will create large problems for your tank. and they are harder to clean out than a skimmer.
