Im thinking i want to get a couple hermite crabs so that the uneaten food that settles on the bottom of the tank wont just sit there , would it be safe to put a couple of large hermits in with a false perc a yellow tang a chocolate chip star and a turbo snail , as well as some other small sanils , and small blue legged hermits , (i really dont care about the blue legged hermits , they dont do anything)

I've heard large crabs will sometimes eat your smaller crabs. A chocolate chip starfish is definitely not safe with turbos, though. Mine ate 3 before I got him out.

The hermit crabs that are larger than the typical cleaner crabs tend to eat snails, corals, and fish/inverts if they can catch them.

Hermit crabs are opportunistic. Get a big one and the things smaller than it will probably start disappearing.

My fish is doing awesome "J" , hes darting around the tank eating algea , playing with the clown , so i think hes gonna be cool , Anemosis is eating from my hand now so that must mean he is alot more comfortable now , ( Iwonder if the tang will starty doing that . I just cleaned all the salt creep off my tank , im wondering if i should rinse off my cartridges in my filter , i know not to ever replace them , but should i rinse them ?

i started out w/ a larger hermit crab. HE GOT MEAN!! i noticed that my new false perc's tailfin became uneven, and i had to freakin feed the crab plankton! otherwise he acted like he was climbing up the side of the tank, which made a lot of noise whenever he fell, i guess he was telling me he was hungry. but i took him to my lfs and traded him in for 3 smaller hermits, which are perfectly happy eating stuff off the bottom of my tank and my lr. definitely get smaller crabs, eventually empty shells so they are less likely to kill each other...
