I don't know if any of you guys have had a strawberry hermit crab, but these are amazing. It is a little smaller than the size of my fist. Here are a few pictures.

Haha, not in a reef RFB. Aggressive FOWLR is where he is. I have two other reefs to keep that bug satisfied.

i had one the size of a softball. i thought he was big enough where my little 3 inch nig trigger would leave him alone. they were together for about 4 months and the trigger pulled him apart, it was very sad but now the trigger is gone and i got one the size of a golfball

Very cool! We had one at the LFS where I work and I decided to put a feeder gold in there over night to see what would happen. When I came in the next morning, no more goldfish...

I just can't see a 3 inch trigger getting this guy. Maybe the other way around. The LFS I got him from had pulled him out of all of the tanks throughout the store and put him by himself in the display 150 up front because he kept killing his tankmates. He is a little bigger than a baseball I would guess.

its the only explanation their were only three things in the tank, a large enginer goby, the crab, and the trigger, i dont think the goby would make my crab become little pieces

I have one in my Reef. He is one of the most fun things in my tank. I got him when he was very very small. i hand feed him all kinds of things from algae sheets to shrimp clam and silversides. In between feedings he filters my sand and scrapes algae off the glass for me. He has never taken a fish, but he does hate my other hermit crabs.
My cleaner shrimp swipe their tenticles at each other in one looks like sword fights.
When he molts he goes up on my LR and faces away from the tank for a couple of days until he hardens back up.
When i have to pick him up to move him or re arrange the rock in my tank i grab him by his shell and he grabs the rock he is usually on and the rock comes up with him when i move him... i never would have thought they could be that strong to hold on to a rock that weighs atleast 20x more than he does.
Mine is also bigger than my hand ... he will have to go into my other tank soon though because I want to have some coral in my main tank

Mantis shrimps ... some people get entertainment out of watching someone elses pets get chomped apart.

the things i feed my crab are already dead

Never underestimate the power of a trigger remember even at 3 inches you can hear those teeth clik. What happens most of the time when these guys go to change shells eels and triggers will come in and have a free meal. They are a great clean up crew while they last though.
