My wrasse, who I have had for 4 years and has always been healthy, is acting strange. Rapid breathing, mouth wide, laying on bottom of tank, will swim around if I tap on glass. I think he is going to be a gonner soon. I tested my water, all findings are good, temp is good, salinity is good......any ideas??

Do you have a Quarantine Tank? Notice any physical ailments, aside from behavior and breathing hard? Redness in gills, body, fins?

Hey Beth and Puffer,
No, no outward signs of anything, no unusual redness or spots, or lumps. Nitrite levels are nill.
This bugger sleeps in the gravel, I always wonder about something get stuck in gill, or something....is that a possibility?

and, being the lazy fish keeper that I am, and how lucky I have been over the years, I dismanteled my quarantine tank about 3 years ago.
