messed up clown

have a clown with a prob. he swims vert., nose up, tail down, up against the side of the tank, all the time. unlike a normal fish would swim. any ideas?

Possibly a broken air bladder (I assume SW fish have them like FW do) or maybe an infection in the air bladder??? I donno for sure.

Is it acting normal otherwise? Any physical signs of illness?

I have two small percs that do this most of the time. They hang out in the right front corner by the silicone seal head up. That is where they sleep too. They do get out some and swim around but never venture to the left side of the tank. I would say they are head up 75% of the time. I never thought this strange at all but now you got me thinking !

too late came home on break today and he was lying on the bottom, already dead. still have 1 clownfish left, would i be able to get another the same size as the one i still have and not have any problems? will they pair off?

it seems like a swim blatter problem. is it captive breed.

If you want another, I would get one that is smaller then the one you have left, you'd have a better chance of it accepting the new one..Good luck and sorry for your loss...Lisa

First off, I am soory for your loss. Secondly I agree with Blueberry. I lost my little clown fish and I had to wait 6 months till the lfs got in a small ones. I brought home one, and 10 min later they were paired up 6 months later they are laying eggs every 2 weeks.
