They make a similar clamp out of nylon. It's more like a zip-tie but has a special tool that allows you to really clamp it down. Called a ty-rap, made by Thomas & Betts. Should last a whole helluva lot longer without any worries associated with steel. I believe i've seen silicone bronze type clamps before but they are rare and very expensive. Those would be the ultimate in corrosion-proof underwater clamping.....not sure about their toxicity though.
