I have already bought the light while my tank was on order. I didnt think about the center brace. Is this going to be a issue for me. My Light is a current MH orbit. It has 1 150 in the middle and two 96 watt actinic PC's. Will the center brace block out alot of the metal halide in the center. What are my option other than buying a new light? Any help will be great. you all here have been very helpful. Thanks.

use a nice piece of stainless steel rod to hook on each end of teh brace..then cut the center of it out. the thin rod will be strong and it will not block any of the light. You will still have the support there as well. Or use some SS leader wires that are strong. id say leave about 1.5" of the brace on each side and connect the rod on each end in middle of that so it still has enough strength to hold it.
here is what I mean

Yea i could put the two stainless pieces in no problem.but how do your suggest i attatch them. I can make about anything at work out of stainless rod. I jsut wasnt sure about cutting the center brace. Has anyone else cut the brace. Anyone have any pics? thanks for the input so for has me thinking...

bend the rod at the ends. So that you can drill a hole in the leftover brace and then put the 2 ends of the rod in on each end..then try and bend it around a little so they cant come out.

You think one screw on each end of the rod will hold enough. I was worried about the plastic ripping out. I havent got the tank yet. It bought and paid for. I had to order it because of the overflow. So I dont know how much of a lip i have to work with. I need the dimensions but I thought about putting a small T on the end som maybe i cold put three or four screws on each brace. I just hate cutting it out. I have also heard of people making one out of polycarbonate so its clear. What do you think of this?
