Metal Halide? Glass between lights and water?

Is it safe to have 2 175 Watt metal halides 7 inches above the surface of the water without anything between them? I have a glass lid right now? The way the buld manufacturer makes out the bulbs could explode if they get debris or something on the outer glass of the bulb???

Get some egg crate from HD if you are worried about jumpers

Na I was worred about water droplets hitting the bulbs and if they could explode?

as they probably clearly stated, if you splash water on a hot bulb, it just might explode.
