Metal Halide is Loud, what do i do?

I just got a brand new 20" sunpod 250 watt Metal halide. This light has a remote ballast with a fan and also a fan that runs through the hood. My question is can I quiet the hood down at all. I don't mind the fan on the remote ballast but the fan on the hood is loud, any tricks to keeping it quieter, I can already here it "Honey what is that noise!?" How bad do you think it would be if I left the Fan off?

I have the Sunpod 2x250's and it is total quite. You might have something loose in the fan housing or something. You shouldn't hear anything.

I guess I shouldn't say its loud or abnormal, but it does make a lot of wind noise.

Ya my 150 sunpod isn't loud at all. I honestly can't hear the fans when i'm 10 feet away, and i have a clip fan on the back that is FAR louder than the little fans that come in the housing of the unit. If your fan makes any noise look into replacing the unit.
