I would think that might be a problem. Might be a problem even with the 175w. As stated above not much heat difference in the 2. I say crank up the air and enjoy your tank in comfort.

Outside temps don't matter, its the inside temp of your house that matters it could be -50deg outside but if your house is 85deg you will still need a chiller. If its 85deg outside but your house still maintains below 75deg or so you can probably get away with just the fans any warmer than that will require a chiller. I have 2-250w MH over my 55g tank and I use two small computer fans to keep the tank cool and so far my temp never gets above 81 and never drops below 79.5 and my house is usually around 74deg.

You should be fine then. I thought you didn't turn your air on until it was 85 in the house.
