Yeah I'm about 1/2 hour....I use to go down 3-4 times a week, now I'm down to maybe 1 every other week.....Gotta watch my pennies....Have my granddaughter, racing motocross every weekend and getting ready to send 1 off to college.....

Awesome I wish I had a really good place like that by me. My local guy is awesome gives me discounts and such but i cleaned out his frag tank hahah and his new order is taking forever because he has to wait till his driver gets orders from at least three stores and than the guy will go to the airport and pick up the stuff. UUGH

So I got my lights in a few days ago, and I set them up this evening. They. Are. Beautiful!!!! They are Odyssea for those of you who were asking. The LED moonlights are AMAZING! The metal halides...it's like I turned on the sun in my living room. Unfortunately, thought, my little peppermint shrimp ran for cover when I turned them on. Even my clownfish hid for a few minutes. They came out, though. So I was thinking I would like to get some coral this weekend to go with my pretty lights!!! I've never owned coral before. What would be a good beginner's coral to start with? I tend to like branchy looking corals and of course anything with color. Open to any and all advice!!!

You mentioned branching so possibly a Kenya or colt. Maybe some mushrooms???
I like to use as some of my first inhabitants in a new tank.

Thanks!
I will see about getting a Kenya tree or something similar! Maybe some mushrooms too! Try them out! I'm so excited!

I will get some pictures up when I can too!

I wouldn't say frogspawn is for an expert. I would try a few basics and then try the frogspawn.... What do you have for flow in the tank?

For the most part the majority of SOFT corals are pretty good for ppl just starting out. They dont require pristine water conditions than lets say an anemone and depending on which kind they can do good in medium lighting.

Right now I have maxi jets: a 1200, a 900, a 400, a 400 on the in tank refugium, my HOB filter, and a 1200 on my protein skimmer. HOWEVER, I have ordered 2 Koralia #2's that will replace one 1200, the 900, and one 400. That should be enough, right?
