Metal Halide only

Just wondering what people think about having only metal halides in a reef tank. If I were to use exclusively metal halides (I'm considering a 2x175 watt retro for a 45 high), would I want to use 10,000K or higher, like 14? (or one of each?)
THANKS!

Lots of hobbyists use only MH's but I believe they use 10K's or higher. I believe that without adaquate "blue" spectrum of lighting they just don't look good. So...maybe with 14K or higher you'd be pleased with the appearence.

I have a 58 show with (1) 175 watt 14,000 k bulb and the corals love it, seems to be fine all by itself. 14,000 k bulb has more blue color.

we run only mh on our tank. we have dual 400 watt and a 175 watt in the middle. then for blue we have 2 normal output actinic bulbs
