metal halide question

I wouldnt try the bulbs. You have the ballast. Get the correct bulbs and plug it into the wall and enjoy. You might I to attach a power cord to it. Just make sure you connect it to the correct 120v wire and comm wire

What is the ballast? Is it the thing that holds the light? And can I plug metal halides straight into the wall?

I'm on my phone so idk how. Go to craigslist on Omaha nebraksas and type in metal halide and it's the one that Is 25 dollars

Not familar with that model. Bulb seems small compared to the reef MH lights. The ones I got were also high bay lights and the bulbs were HUGE. The ballast is the part inside that box with the wires coming out of it. Without a model and brand of that ballast I couldnt tell you. You will have to take a chance and get one and try it out
