Metal Halide support legs.

I am ordering a metal halide hood and i was wondering if there is a company that makes support legs that attach to teh hood and hold it above the aquarium using the sides of the tank.
Thre is one company that has these but they only raise the hood up 2 and a half inches.
Is that high enough?
What company makes support legs?

all those hoods are going to be different, you should check your hood manufacturer to see if they have some. Chances are they dont. You may have to make your own legs. 2 1/2 inches is probably not enough. Is the hood covered or not covered? The biggest concern with metal halide is that they will get water splashed on them, if this happens they will more or less explode. Also heat may be harder to take care of if they are closer to the water. At least that is how i am understanding things. If I am wrong on this someone please tell me.
