Why would you purchase a skimmer with even one of the above problems and one that requires you to take it apart to keep it working?
Lifereef skimmers feature the CVC device or "Constant Venturi Cleansing" and "Air Recirculation" (does more than just keep the venturi clean!)
The venturi on this skimmer has not been cleaned in over a year! The gate valve has not been "fiddled" with for the same period. Does your skimmer operate "hands-off"?
NOTE: Be wary of skimmers using a term called "multi-pass" or "triple-pass". This is a misleading statement implying that the water passes through several chambers and thus skims more efficiently. Actually there is only one bubble chamber and thus only one pass at skimming. The other "passes" only redirect the water up or down to eliminate and isolate the bubbles, it does not improve skimming.
A SPECIAL VENTURI DEVICE included on all of our skimmers is CVC or "Constant Venturi Cleansing"(CVC and Flange Detail) and we are the first to design and use this device. It does more than just keep the venturi clean! What this does is keep the venturi free of salt buildup, a common problem with all other venturi skimmers and the major cause of poor skimmer performance. Your skimmer will operate much longer without having to clean the venturi! This feature has three more benefits: acts as a safety overflow keeping the skimmer cup from overflowing, muffles the typical venturi sucking noise and uses "Air Recirculation" which recirculates the air within the skimmer. It does not pull in room air which can cause skimmers to function poorly or not at all due to room sprays, aerosols, CO2 levels, smoke, grease smoke, etc. There is no need to run the venturi air suction hose outside your house as some other skimmers require or suggest! Your skimmer will perform with a more stable running level, more stable skimming, and less maintenance! Truly a most unique feature! ONLY LIFEREEF SKIMMERS HAVE THIS!!!
This feature alone means less skimmer maintenance, better skimmer performance, more stable skimming action, virtually a "hands-off" skimmer and more time enjoying your aquaruim! If you like to fiddle and do lots of maintenance then get another skimmer.
Works 100% has some dirt inside but does not affet performance.
