I am looking for a retro metal halide setup. any wattage. please pm or respond

wattage is depending on how tall your tank is... imo.. the only 2 mh wattage that are worth it are the 250's and 400's... for anything els.. t5ho can do just as good or better.. ( except if your tank is a cube.. then a single mh is best)
for tanks 24'' tall you can use 250's and keep most anything.. ( sps, some clams, some nems) .. 400's are for taller tanks .. 30'' and up.. but you can use it on a 24'' .. just be careful to introduce thing lower in the tank.. as 400's are 160% brighter than 250...
thats the gist of it.. but you have to put into consideration as what kelvin rating bulbs you are using.. the higher the k rating, the weaker the PAR rating... so if you wanted to use 20k's.. i suggest you use a 400 watter on a 24''...
